Alcon Entertainment Acquires Film and Television Rights to Best-Selling Young Adult Author Jonathan Maberry's Fiction Series "Rot & Ruin"
LOS ANGELES, CA, April 9, 2019 – Alcon Entertainment has acquired the rights to the popular young adult zombie fiction series Rot & Ruin from New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Maberry, it was announced by Alcon Entertainment co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove.
Alcon purchased the film and television rights to all four installments of the series and will initially develop the first two books in the series as feature films.
Set in a zombie-infected America, Rot & Ruin follows young Benny Imura as he navigates a post-apocalyptic world in which teenagers are forced into slave labor or face starvation. When he instead chooses to join his older brother Tom as a zombie hunter, his expectations are upended as he instead discovers what it means to be human.
